First, we assess a broad variety of metabolic health markers. One of our goals is to assess for chronic inflammation which leads to "inflammaging" .

"Inflammaging" ("inflammation" and "aging") refers to a chronic, low-grade, and sterile inflammation that develops with advanced age, even in the absence of overt infection.

It is characterized by elevated levels of pro-inflammatory markers in the blood and tissues, and it is considered a significant contributor to the development and progression of many age-related diseases, including cardiovascular disease, metabolic disorders, neurodegenerative conditions, and certain cancers. This persistent inflammatory state is believed to accelerate the aging process itself.

Franceschi, C., Garagnani, P., Parini, P. et al. Inflammaging: a new immune–metabolic viewpoint for age-related diseases. Nat Rev Endocrinol 14, 576–590 (2018). https://doi.org/10.1038/s41574-018-0059-4

Among the markers used to assess for inflammation are hs-CRP and Serum Ferritin. The following section outlines the thought process used if they are abnormal.
