As the below analysis on differing approaches to weight loss go, it is possible to achieve weight loss goals through either a Low Fat or Low Carb diet. As someone who has tried both, my n=1 opinion is that the latter is superior, therefore we concede our bias that VLCD's are superior to LF diets. We also acknowledge, as in the study below, that adherence can be difficult for some people, but a whole foods approach is consistent across both. Reasons for this opinion go beyond just weight loss, as we'll discuss in length on this site.
